100+ YEARS OF WOMEN LAWYERS SUPPORTING EACH OTHER
“We are also fortunate to have WLWNY—a safe haven in the legal world where we can socialize and network with our sister lawyers. The camaraderie, laughter, understanding, and support I found there was a joy, particularly at a time when women lawyers were still a bit of a novelty. Our charitable works and support of women law students are laudable examples of our work. But it's the friendships that WLWNY helped to create that are what this great group is really all about."

WHAT WE DO
We recognize exceptional attorneys and ideas through guest speakers, discussion groups and our annual Woman Lawyer of The Year luncheon.
We host social functions with a purpose, where members interact with the judiciary, local bar associations and law students in engaging ways.
We sponsor events throughout the year that promote our mission, host a "fun"raiser each spring and donate the proceeds to a community non-for-profit organization, and provide a bar study scholarship to a deserving law student.
Women Lawyers of Western New York was founded in the early 1900s and is the oldest women's legal organization in Western New York. It began with a few women lawyers meeting for lunch and grew into intimate dinner parties held in members' homes. Today, we stay true to these principles by providing a forum for our members to socialize, network and learn from each other in a relaxing and entertaining environment. Our membership includes women, law students, and a few brave men. Women Lawyers of Western New York demonstrates its commitment to the community through scholarships, donations and fundraisers for individuals, agencies and organizations connected to our profession.
